Major: Marketing with a specialization in consumer behavior

Doctoral Dissertation:”Relational Communication and Personality Traits: Effects on Telemarketers”

 

The dissertation examined sales interactions using a process approach and relational communications coding.  IT established a link between personality research and process measures.  Through exploration of relationships between dominance and adaptability as this occurs during sales interactions.  Findings showed that the self-report of self-monitoring (used as an analog for adaptability) and sales success were significantly related with high self-monitoring salespeople having significantly more sales than low self-monitoring salespeople.
